Josh,
Cross the water down stream about 20 feet. The waterfall upcanyon is worth the wet feet.
I've been up to the falls a few times. I have pictures posted of it in October and in February. But since I was by myself and didn't have anyone to test the stability of the rocks and boards I decided to be safe and not cross. I had two cameras and three lenses on me. I did not want to drop my camera bag in the water. I'll go back out again sometime.
